Wendy joined Patients for Patient Safety Canada in 2021. A nurse by background Wendy has focused on improving quality and safety throughout her career – in senior hospital positions and most recently as President and CEO of Accreditation Canada, resigning in 2016.

Wendy has extensive governance experience including as a founding Board Member of the Canadian Patient Safety Institute, remaining on the Board for 8 years and concluding her term with being Board Chair. She has also been active with the International Society for Quality in Health Care (ISQua) for over 20 years – as a Board member, surveyor, ISQua Expert and an ISQua Fellow. Wendy continues her active involvement with ISQua. She is Vice-Chair of the Hospice Care Ottawa Board. Further, Wendy is a member of the Committee on Accreditation of Canadian Medical Schools as well as a member of several advisory committees and an Emeritus member of the Canadian Health Leadership Network.

As a member of the PFPSC Leadership Group, she looks forward to more actively participating in discussions and decision-making to further raise the bar on patient safety.
